Dear Parents of Grade Four Students:

Due to the anticipated rain tomorrow, we will be postponing the grade 4 trip to Ruggle's Mine until the mine reopens in the spring. Unfortunately, Ruggle's cannot accommodate us until this time for an immediate reschedule as they are closing down for the season in just a few days.

For those who may have never been to the mine, the safety conditions in the mine area significantly decrease when the weather is rainy. Over the years, we have realized that the slippery steep slopes, and muddy environment coupled with sharp rocks and jagged edges leads to significant increases in student injury during rainy trips.

We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may result in. However, we know you agree that safety is our biggest priority when working with children, and that it is best for their wellbeing to postpone for a warmer, drier date.

Thanks!
