Good Morning!
We are closing in on the start of the school year on August 29th, and with twelve days to go we wanted to make sure that you had access to some important information.
Student Handbook On a Wiki
First, the Student Handbook is now on a Wiki page that is linked to the school website. This has become District practice and all schools have posted their handbook online in this way. The link to the Wiki is located at:
http://mss-studenthandbook.wikispaces.com/Home
The handbook contains all the important information about school life, operations, and District policies that you will need to know.
Bus Routes
Secondly, the bus route schedule is posted online on the website as well. We have not heard of significant changes to the route schedule to date, but I will continue to look for any changes that the bus company may make and relay them to you as I hear of them. As always, the routes may be seen at:

Start / Close Time Shift
In order to have consistency among staff contracts and building schedules, Maple Street School had adjusted its start and close times to be in-line with the Harold Martin School. While early drop off times remain the same, pick up times have shifted slightly, moving from 2:45 PM to 2:35 PM. The Daily time schedule will be:
Early Drop Off: 7:30 AM - 7:40 AM
Normal Drop Off: 7:40 AM - 7:55 AM
Students Enter: 7:55 AM
Students Tardy: 8:00 AM or later.
As has been the norm, buses in the Hopkinton School District will be positioned for afternoon staggered starts, several starting at HMS, MSS, and at the HHS. As such, parents who have children at one or more schools have several options as to picking up their children or transporting them home. One option that has been used and proven to be quite convenient to parents has been to have MSS students ride the bus to HMS and meet younger siblings for parent pick-up. Other parents have had HMS students ride the bus to MSS and transfer to parent-pick up with a MSS sibling. Regardless, please be sure to clearly identify the route you would like to have your child take home to both schools, particularly if a HMS student will be using MSS parent- pick up on a daily basis.
Summer Welcome
We are looking forward to seeing students and parents of new and returning students to MSS on Thursday, August 25 at 6 PM for our Summer Welcome. Teachers and staff will be in their rooms to say hello and to allow families to visit and see the school in the final days before our school year begins. We hope to see you there!
