Hello Everyone:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend - Happy Father’s Day.

It seems crazy to think that another year is almost over. Today, Maple
Street School Library Assistant Mrs. Raymond and I spoke of a family
in Hopkinton that after 30 or so years, no longer has a student in the
school system. I wonder what they are feeling like right now?

The news has been full of articles regarding the state budget. The
state’s contribution to the retirement system is being monitored
closely. The state retirement support impacts the school district’s
ability to offer program.

As the state budget is almost complete, the hope is to provide the
community with the latest information regarding 2011- 2012 program
next week.

Middle School Sports has been widely discussed recently. The current
plan is to run middle school sports. The extent to which school
district funds are utilized depends on the state budget. The
circumstances could warrant zero or full district support, dependent
on the state budget.

Just a quick reminder: this year the elementary and secondary
calendars were slightly different.

The elementary last day of school is Wednesday, June 22. The day will
be a half-day. The students will be released at 12:00pm.

The secondary last day of school is Thursday, June 23. The day will be
a half-day. The students will be released at 12:00pm.

Please watch for the email next week regarding the 2011 - 2012 program.

Thank you for your support.
