I hope that everyone is having a splendid holiday season and that you
are not making New Year's resolutions too far beyond your grasp. It is
a great time to take stock in what we have and to look forward to our
goals and aspirations. Isn't a fresh start a great thing?
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS
As you may know, we have a very active Safe Routes to Schools
Committee made up of teachers, administrators, and community members.
The origin of the committee came from the state grant written and
later awarded to HMS for the spring construction of a new walkway
leading into our school from Main Street. The vision of the committee
has expanded and one of the goals is to look more globally at the way
students travel to school. As such, my hard working colleague Steve
Chamberlin has written an online survey that we would like every
parent in the district to complete. It is very quick and you can
access it at:
Please take a few minutes in the next week to complete the survey. If
you don't have access to a computer/internet connection, let me know
and I would be glad to mail you a copy of the survey. Thank you
I have three new HMS Podcasts online which you can access at: http://hopkintonschools.org/hms/principal/index.html/Podcast/Podcast.html
It should also be on iTunes within a day or two. Podcast #6 is a more
typical program outlining major events of January at HMS. Podcasts #7
and 8 are essentially recordings of our recent winter concerts. It's
fun hearing the kids sing.
Do you have questions about the District's budget process or H20
(Hopkinton 2.0)? Then come join us at the next PTA meeting -
Superintendent Dr. Blake is on the agenda to discuss both subjects!
January 8th at 6:30 PM

Remember, we're back to school on Monday, January 5. Happy New Year
