HMS PARENT FLASH 12-11-09
Greetings from a suddenly winter filled Harold Martin School. Just the
other day I was contemplating the need to finish my last part of leaf
raking when suddenly I was pushing my snow blower around. Conditions
change quickly in New England. On that note, be sure that your child
comes with hats, gloves, boots, winter jacket, and snow pants so that
they can enjoy the outdoors.
I hope you’ll consider attending the next Parent Advisory Council
(PAC) meeting next Tuesday evening, December 15, from 5:30-6:30 in the
Maple Street School library. We’ll have two topics that evening. Maple
Street Principal Michael Bessette will talk about work he and the high
school are doing around school culture and our partnership with Main
Street Academix. In addition, we’ll be chatting about MAP scores which
you’ll be receiving with your child’s progress report.
Speaking of progress reports, look for them in your child’s backpack
on Friday, December 18. They are a week late as we are utilizing a new
computerized program to write them and we want to make sure that
everything works well. You shouldn’t notice much of a difference on
your end, but I hope this new process will be more efficient.
I hope to see you at the winter concerts next week. Have a great
weekend.
Best,
Bill Carozza, Principal

HMS CONCERTS
Parents,
This is a reminder that a very special event is coming your way. The
children will be sharing their gift of song here at HMS in the multi
purpose room at 1:45 on the following dates:
Monday, December 14th for grades 2 and 3, and
Tuesday, December 15th for kindergarten and 1st grade.
The children should be dressed in festive, yet comfortable clothes.
(No jeans and t-shirts, please.) Another consideration is to avoid
dressing the students too warmly, as the children can get over-heated
singing together on the risers.
Hope to see you there,
Edna Marie Griffin,
(music teacher)
