Dear Second Grade
Parents,
May 20, 2006
All second graders will be participating in the play Character
Matters directed by the children’s music teacher Mrs. Griffin. The
first show for families will be on Monday, June 5th at 6:30PM in the
multipurpose room at Harold Martin School. Please have your child
arrive by 6:15PM and report to their classroom. The next show will
be during the day on June 6th for Harold Martin students and staff.
Your child should know what character they are playing. Please
contact Mrs. Griffin if you are uncertain of their role. Please see
below how your child should dress on the show dates. I will include
what costume accessories will already be supplied.
Please dress your children as follows (keeping it simple is fine and
encouraged):
Princesses: Wear a skirt or dress (a princess dress is fine if you
already have one). Pretty princess hats will be provided.
Mama Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear: Wear brown, khaki, bear-like
colors (shirt and pants). Fuzzy bear hats will be provided. An
apron for Mama Bear will also be provided.
Little Pigs: Wear jeans or blue pants. T-shirts, pig noses and pig
ear hats will all be provided.
Humpty Dumpties: Wear white, yellow, neutral colors (shirts and
pants). Broken egg costumes will be provided.
Magic Mirrors: Wear neutral colors (shirts and pants). Mirror
costumes will be provided.
Woodland friends: Students who chose be a fox should wear red or
brown and students who chose to be a rabbit should wear white, khaki
or brown (shirts and pants). Animal hats will be provided. The fox
hats are red and the rabbit hats are white and pink.
Mice: Wear gray, khaki, neutral colors (shirts and pants). Mice hats
will be provided.
Parents of the following characters will have to dress their child to
fit their character. Remember keeping it simple is fine.
Rapunzel
Prince: A crown will be provided.
Witch
Little Red Riding Hood
Wolf : Wear brown or khaki colors (shirt and pants); a brown wolf
hat will be provided.
Goldilocks
Cinderella
Jack
The Giant
