FUN FAIR

Saturday, May 20 from 10am-2om at Harold Martin School

We are still in need of volunteers to work the 12-2pm

shift. If you can spare an hour or two that afternoon,

please call Cindy Glass at 746-4572 or Katie Winslow

at 746-2814. We don't want to have to shut down booths

in the afternoon, so please volunteer if you are able

to. Parents can always run a booth with their older

children, please call for details.

If you have volunteered to help out at set-up on

Friday night, please plan on being there at 5:30 pm in

the multi-purpose room.

Cakes and cupcakes should be brought to Mrs. Pepper's

room after 5:30 the night of set-up.

Plants, flowers and flower pots are still needed,

please call Heather Mitchell at 746-5352 to donate.

Please bring your items in during set-up or make

arrangements with Heather ahead of time.

Don't forget the Silent Auction for adults which will

be going on during Fun Fair. Bring your checkbook and

check your items often during the Fair to make sure

you are the highest bidder. Call Julie Morris at

746-4137 if you have a donation or questions.

Thank you to all the staff and parents for your

support and donations. We look forward to everyone

having a great time at the Fun Fair!

There are Hallmark moments for nearly every occasion. In addition to
the traditional holidays and birthdays, there is now a Grandparents
Day, Office Manager Day, and Boss Day. One of these “days” flew by
this week with not enough attention, frankly, and that’s Teacher’s
Day, which was Tuesday, May 9th sponsored by the National Education
Association.

All of the research shows that the quality of your child’s teacher is
the single most important factor in their learning. School culture,
strong leadership, and an adequate school facility are essential, but
the bottom line is that a child’s school success begins and ends with
the teacher. If we want to improve the academic status of our kids,
invest in the professional development of teachers. This time of
year, when we are focusing on student placement, I’m proud to say
that there isn’t a teacher at Harold Martin School that I wouldn’t
want my own children to have.

We are fortunate to have a community in Hopkinton that respects the
work our school district does on behalf of your children. In fact,
the partnership we share is one of the true “hallmarks” of our town.
We do feel appreciated by our parents and community members.

I hope we can enjoy the rainy weekend. Time to get out the board
games and books.

Sincerely,

Bill Carozza
Principal
