Hello Everyone:

I hope the rain clears and the weekend is wonderful. On the way into
school today, I heard a report about a supermoon occurring this
weekend. A supermoon occurs when a moon is full at its closest point
to the earth. This weekend’s supermoon should appear 17% brighter than
normal. If you get the chance try some moon gazing this weekend.

The Hopkinton School Board is piloting a new segment in board
meetings. At the first meeting of every month a topic of interest is
placed In Focus. Last month mathematics was In Focus. A discussion
about the Math Task Force, the numeracy specialist, and instructional
grouping ensued. This month, school climate will be In Focus. Next
Month, career readiness and entrepreneurship will be placed In Focus.
This months meeting will be held at 5:30pm on Monday May 7, in room 21
at Maple Street School.

Hopkinton High School/National Honor Society will be hosting a blood
drive on Tuesday May 8, most of the day. Please feel encouraged to
stop by to support the National Honor Society and the Red Cross.

Have a great weekend. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Steven M. Chamberlin
Superintendent of Schools
