We foster a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and
respectful.
We promote personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and civic
responsibility.
We provide traditional and innovative opportunities for students to
maximize their potential.
Thoughts from along the adventure:
I hope everyone had a wonderful vacation. I enjoyed the time with my
family very much. The District Calendar Committee is looking at the
2009-2010 calendar. Please feel encouraged to share any thoughts
about the calendar, I would be happy to forward the comments to the
Calendar Committee.
Today, the junior and senior classes participated in the traditional
“Back to Hopkinton” event. Fifteen members of the Class of 2008
shared their experiences with the future graduates. It was wonderful
to see the recent graduates around the building.
In case you missed the email from the superintendent, the Tuesday,
January 27 early release day has been moved to Wednesday, January 28.
We are going to try to accommodate the ski program (more information
will be forthcoming). High school mid-term exams will take place on
January 22, January 23, January 26, and January 27. A link to the
schedule will be provided in next week’s Hawk News.
The middle and high school students will be watching the Presidential
Inauguration on January 20; an opportunity that will be a part of our
practice every four years.
Please do your best to remember the traffic pattern at the end of the
day. Parent/guardian pick up takes place at the teachers’ entrance
with an exit on Kearsarge Ave. The snow bank impact on visibility
makes this procedure important. Thank you for your understanding.
Increasing the opportunity for teachers to collaborate has been one of
the goals this year. In lieu of faculty meetings, teachers have been
meeting in small groups to explore teaching strategies and
technology. Teachers have also met to analyze student performance.
The change has been well received by the staff.
In order to support student learning, we have provided after school
support for both middle school and high school students. PLEASE
ENCOURAGE YOUR YOUNGSTERS TO UTILIZE THIS RESOURCE. For high school
students the library is open for academic support Monday, Wednesday,
and Thursday from 3:00-4:00pm and Tuesday from 3:00-4:30pm. For
middle school students, room 402 is open for academic support Monday
– Thursday from 3:00–4:00pm.
Happy New Year!
