We foster a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and
respectful.

We promote personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and civic
responsibility.

We provide traditional and innovative opportunities for students to
maximize their potential.

Thoughts from along the adventure:

I hope everyone has had a good week. The weather seems to be cooling
down just in time for the tournament season. The cross-country Class
M state meet and field hockey quarterfinal games are this weekend.
The soccer teams begin their tournaments next week. It is an exciting
time for the athletic program.

Last week, the middle school boys cross-country team had an exiting
weekend winning the middle school championship. It was great to see
the huge trophy around the school this week.

There are two anonymous tip lines that support student safety. One is
a regional tip line sponsored by the local crime line organization.
If parents and guardians hear of a party or other dangerous activity
for teens a call can be made to 226-3100, and the police will be
dispatched to see if the parents and guardians are in town or know of
the party.

The second is our school 746-2020 line. Students and parents can call
746-2020 to inform our guidance staff of concerns for students; all
calls are confidential. Please feel encouraged to use either phone
number to help keep students safe.

In the past, there has been a middle school Gaming Club. If any one
is interested in running a middle school Gaming Club, please let me
know.

Tuesday, October 28 (a day 2), will be an early release day. The
middle school will have periods 5-8 and the high school blocks three
and four. Tuesday will also mark the beginning of Teen Read Week as
we Drop Everything and Read for a portion of the day.

Just a reminder, there are a few no school days coming up: November
4th is Election Day, this day will be a professional development day
for the faculty, November 10th is Parent Teacher Conference Day, and
November 11th is Veterans Day.

The district is beginning the budget season. Building budgets have
been reviewed with the superintendent and business administrator.
Everyone is aware of the challenging economic times and the impact on
the school district budget.

Have a great weekend.

Steve Chamberlin
Principal
