HOPKINTON MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL MISSION
We foster a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and
respectful.
We promote personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and civic
responsibility. We provide traditional and innovative opportunities
for students to maximize their potential.
Hopefully, you have been able to find some time to be outdoors with
family or completing fall chores. The warmer weather over the past
week has been wonderful. My own children love to rake leaves into a
big pile, run down the hill, and then jump into them burying themselves.
How about the Boston Red Sox? I will admit that I did not stay up to
watch game five. Who would of thought they would have made a comeback
from seven runs down? It goes to show anything can happen in sports.
Even if you are not a Red Sox fan, you must admit it was impressive.
This week we started the NECAP (New England Common Assessment Program)
testing in the middle school. The middle school will complete testing
on Tuesday, October 21st. The eleventh grade finished the NECAP this
past week.
November 4th is election day and there will be no school.
Parent conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 10th. To
schedule a middle school conference, please call Anne Whiting at
746-2502. To schedule high school conferences, call Jean Eaton at
746-4167 ext. 222.
Tournament season is upon us. For game schedules, call the HHS sport
information line at 746-NEWS, extension one.
PSAT’s are scheduled for Saturday, October 18th. Students are
required to report to the high school and be seated by 7:45 AM (no
later please). Students are reminded to bring #2 pencils and a
calculator. No food or drink will be allowed into the testing room.
Notice to all seventh grade parents that VIP (Very Important Parents)
meetings are being held on Friday mornings. Please contact Jean Eaton
if you would like to attend. This is a perfect opportunity to meet
with the school administration to discuss how transition to middle
school has been going and to discuss other issues that may be on your
mind. Refreshments are served at these meetings.
The Guidance Department will host the third and final College Mini
Fair on Thursday, October 23rd from 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM in the high
school auditorium. Please encourage your son or daughter to attend if
they are a junior or a senior.
On Friday, October 24th, the Hopkinton High School Interact Club will
be having a talent show to raise money for Hands to Honduras. Every
year, members of the Interact Club travel to Honduras to volunteer
their time building and repairing schools, homes, and other
buildings. The members also bring with them medical supplies, school
supplies, and clothing that is donated to people in the villages where
they work. Please plan to attend.
As I come to a close I will leave you with this:
