HOPKINTON MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL MISSION
We foster a learning environment that is safe, supportive, and respectful.
We promote personal integrity, intellectual curiosity, and civic responsibility.
We provide traditional and innovative opportunities for students to maximize
their potential.
Our Open House was a great success for many reasons. It was wonderful to get the
chance to meet and talk with parents. During the last few weeks, I have become
more comfortable at Hopkinton Middle High School. It has been a great
experience to work in a community that places such value on education.
It is amazing to see how busy Hopkinton Middle High School is. Today, our
seventh grade class will be attending the Highland Games. The seventh grade
will also be attending Environmental Camp during the week of October 3rd, and
will be take the NECAP on 10/17, 10/18 & 10/19. The eighth grade will take the
NECAP on 10/3, 10/4, 10/5, & 10/6. Hopkinton Middle High School will be hosting
two college mini fairs on October 6th & 20th.
Homecoming will be September 30th and October 1st. The parade will be on
Friday, September 30th @ 6:00 PM followed by a bonfire @ Georges Park. On
Saturday, October 1st there are scheduled athletic events all day with the
Homecoming Dance scheduled for Saturday evening. Please be aware of the
following change for the Homecoming Dance: the middle school students will have
their dance from 6:30 PM ? 8:30 PM and the high school students will have
their dance from 8:30 PM ? 11:00 PM. Guest passes are needed for HMHS
students who would like to bring a guest to the dance who do not attend
Hopkinton Middle High School. Guest passes are available in the main office.
As I come to a close I?ll leave you with this:
'As the world becomes more inter-connected organizations that will truly excel
in the future will be (those).... that discover how to tap people's commitment
and capacity to learn.' Peter Senge 'The Fifth Discipline'
As I have walked the halls this month I find this to be true of Hopkinton Middle
High School staff.
It is truly a special place.

Assistant Principal

Eastern Equine Encephalitis
Eastern Equine Encephalitis is an uncommon but serious disease caused by EEE
virus. EEE is an arbovirus (short for arthropod-borne, meaning spread by
insects). The virus can be transmitted to horses, other animals, and, in rare
cases, people.
How can EEE be prevented?
If possible, stay inside between dusk and dark when mosquitoes are most active.
When outside between dusk and dark, wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts.
Use an insect repellent with DEET according to the manufacturer?s directions,
put screens on windows, and eliminate standing water from your property.
